THEMED NIGHTS
Residents at The Hermitage have been enjoying regular 'theme nights' where one couple decides on a 'theme' for the night and a suitable menu. One dish on the menu is then prepared by each couple and the tables and surrounds at the Water Lilies Country Club are suitably decorated.
The first 'Theme Night' was held over the Easter weekend with the theme naturally being 'Easter'. The colouring in competition was a good souce of amusement, providing a good laugh.
The latest 'theme' was 'Childhood Memories' with dishes 'Mother' used to make, on the menu. The dishes enjoyed on the night were Soup, followed by Cottage Pie and vegetables, then Apple Crumble and Bread and Butter Pudding.
During the evening, the residents had to match up a photo of each resident as a child with a photo of their Mother – this proved quite challenging but a lot of fun! Everyone also had to speak for at least one minute on a given topic, which related to childhood.
These 'theme nights' are proving to be very popular and immensely enjoyable.
HERMITAGE TENNIS NIGHTS
Every Wednesday night, The Hermitage residents get together for their weekly tennis night. At approximately 5pm residents meet for some seriously fun tennis, playing for a couple of hours before stopping to enjoy dinner in the Tennis Pavilion, each couple bringing along a dish for the night. Following their meal and re-charge, the residents resume play, staying until about 9pm. All residents are members of 'The Hermitage Tennis Club' and thoroughly enjoy their tennis.
SNOOKER COMPETITION
Each Sunday afternoon the residents get together in the Water Lilies Country Club for their 'Snooker Competition'. This is proving to be a popular afternoon with residents enjoying the facility and the opportunity to make good use of their Country Club. This weekly competition is always followed by drinks and nibblies, it is the perfect opportunity for our residents to have a chat and enjoy one another's company.
THE HERMITAGE HAIRDRESSER
The Hermitage residents are taking full advantage of the convenience of having their very own hairdresser. Aileen Beecroft owned and operated a hairdressing salon in Hawks Nest for approximately 5 years, and now is our on-site hairdresser at The Hermitage. Cutting, colouring, styling etc from the salon within the Water Lilies Country Club.
